Harold and Kumar IIмебелимебелиOk, the song isn't really performed by Harold and Kumar themselves. Its actually performed by someone named Mickey Avalon. However, there are about 2 or 3 different guys that rap on this song which could make this a rap group. In either case, I don't really care. I only care about how damn funny this song is. I just finished watching the new Harold and Kumar movie and almost rolled out of my seat laughing when I heard this song playing in the background. I don't quite remember the scene as the song pretty much stole the moment. In honor of such a gloriously funny track, I am giving it a spot in the TDL Musicology catalog. As I always do, here is a video of the song (not an official video but at least you can hear the whole thing) and below that are the lyrics. Now you may ask yourself why is Hello Kitty the graphic on the video? If you haven't seen the movie then the joke is thats what the guy from Homeland Security called Harold in the movie. If I have to explain the joke further, well then, its not meant for you to get. If you haven't seen the movie, then you must. It was so funny it will have you planning your next Bottomless Party immediately!

Death Cab for Cutie: Narrow StairsThis weeks entry into the TDL Musicology archives is the new single "I Will Possess Your Heart" by the band Death Cab for Cutie from their upcoming album "Narrow Stairs" (release date: May 13, 2008). Now some of you might have heard of this band already and many of you have probably never heard of them at all. Up until now, all of Death Cab for Cutie's albums have been on independent labels making them an "Indie" band (whatever the hell that means). I tend to hate the genre of "Indie" music because what is it? A hip hop artist on an independent label is an "Indie" artist so the concept of an Indie genre is absurd, but I digress. I am here to discuss Death Cab for Cutie's latest creation. This time they are signed with a major label so the fear is that they have sold out and have made their music more "mainstream." Coldplay: Viva la Vida or Death and All His FriendsWhats up TDL readers!?! As The Dude has mentioned, we are trying damn hard to expand what we do here at the blog. In an attempt to open minds to new music or just talk about those we find interesting, we will have the occasional music post here. This weeks entry is one tune that has its own controversy among our writers and readers. Although it seems to have been well received by most bloggers of the band and general music aficionados, there have been mixed feelings here at TDL. The song is "Violet Hill" from Coldplay's upcoming album "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends" (release date: June 17, 2008). The sound is a departure from what Coldplay has become known for which will probably shock a lot of fans. Fans will either accept it or absolutely hate it.
